Block user control

With this control element users log in to and out of the APP. Depending on the user, different pages can be reached – for instance only light and shading for a guest. See User administration.

Operation

1. Symbol: a short tap opens the login, a long press (0.7 seconds) the changing of the passwords. The icon of the logged-on user is shown; if that user has none, or nobody is logged in, the default icon appears.
2. Name: the user logged in, or “Logged out” if nobody is logged in.

Logging in and changing the password

1. Tap a user: asks for the password – with a number pad if it consists of digits only, otherwise with a text input. If it is correct, the first page linked to this user appears. A wrong entry shows “Wrong password”. The login stays stored on the device, also across a restart of the APP.
2. Key: marks the user who is logged in.
3. Log out: logs out after the question “Log out user?”; then the first page that can be reached without login appears. Only present if the installer allowed logging out.
4. Tap a user (after a long press, dialog Edit): the current password, the new password and its repetition are asked for one after the other. If everything is correct, “Password changed” appears and the new password applies at once. Without the current password nothing can be changed.
5. Save: closes the dialog.

With more than four users the list can be scrolled. At most as many users appear as the licence allows; if this number is reached, the title bar says so.

Setup

This section is meant for the installer of the system.

The users and their passwords are created in the Studio, as well as which pages belong to which user, see User administration and the video about it. An own icon can also be assigned to each user there.

Tip: If a fixed start page is set in the project, it always takes precedence over the first page of the user after logging in. So do not set a fixed start page when the user management is used.
